WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE?
My photographic style is documentary in nature. I love to capture the mood of your event and the personalities of the participants. My style is casual. I love to capture the emotions of each wedding; the joy, laughter, tears. Photographs captured are a combination of spontaneous and guided direction when appropriate.
DO YOU DO FORMAL POSED IMAGES AS WELL?
Of course. I will take formals of the bride and groom, their families and the bridal party on your wedding day. I consider your wedding day a rite of passage. Therefore it's important to photograph the families and participants to document the occasion.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
I live in Riverside, California.
WHICH AREAS DO YOU COVER?
I photograph weddings in Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego and the Inland Empire. Basically I will photograph your wedding anywhere in Southern California with no additional travel fees, but I also love to do destinations as well. Please inquire about destination wedding when contacting me.
WILL YOU TRAVEL?
Of course! I enjoy traveling and am available for destination weddings outside Southern California. Travel expenses will be added to the cost of the wedding package for travel and accomodations. Please contact me with your wedding details to obtain a quote for travel expenses. I arrange my own travel and accomodations.
WHO WILL PHOTOGRAPH MY WEDDING?
I am the sole primary photographer. If you hire me to photograph your wedding, you will get me. Period. If your package includes a second shooter, I will select a professional photographer whose work I respect to accompany me
DO YOU SCHEDULE MORE THAN ONE WEDDING ON A GIVEN DATE?
No. I only schedule one wedding per calendar date. This ensures I can devote my full attention to your wedding.
WHAT IF YOU'RE UNABLE TO COVER MY WEDDING?
In the unlikely event I am not able to shoot your wedding due to unforeseen circumstances, I will select another professional photographer to photograph your wedding.I have a wedding photographers I regularly hire to second shoot weddings with me. I am a member of numerous wedding photography communities. Therefore I am well connected with a network of reliable wedding photographers who may be called upon.
HOW MANY PICTURES WILL WE GET?
The number of pictures taken depends on many factors and varies from wedding to wedding. On average, I deliver approximately 600 pictures for 8 hours of coverage, 800 photographs for 10 hours of coverage and 1,000 photographs for 12 hours of coverage.
DO WE GET TO KEEP THE NEGATIVES?
I provide the high-resolution digital files with no watermarking or copy protection. I retain the copyright on the images and reserve the right to use them for promotional purposes, competition, etc. You will receive a written release to make unlimited personal reproductions and copies for your family and friends.
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Yes and prooof of insurance can be provided if required by your venue.
WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I use current top of the line pro version Nikon cameras and lenses and Profoto studio lighting equipment.
CAN YOU HOLD THE DATE FOR ME?
Unfortunately, I cannot hold the date for you without a retainer and signed agreement. Customers are accomodated on a first come, first served basis.
WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT SCHEDULE?
A fifty percent retainer is due at booking. The remaining fifty percent is due 30 days prior to your wedding date.
IF WE DECIDE TO COMMISSION MICHAEL FOR OUR WEDDING, WHEN SHOULD WE BOOK?
As soon as possible. Since dates are reserved on a first come, first served basis, it's important to book as quickly as possible. There are a limited number of wedding dates each year. Since I can't hold or pencil in your date without a retainer and agreement, please contact me early so you're not disappointed.
DO YOU CHARGE SALES TAX?
7.75% California sales tax will be added to all packages which include physical objects such as albums, photo enlargements and flash drives. However, if a package includes only photographic services and images delivered via the internet, no sales tax will be added.
IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY WEDDING, CAN I HAVE MY RETAINER BACK?
No you cannot. The retainer fee and all monies paid are non-refundable. The retainer guarantees I will reserve your wedding date. Once I receive your retainer, I will turn down all commissions for that date.
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR OFF-SEASON OR NON-SATURDAY EVENTS?
I occasionally offer discounts for events scheduled during the week or during non-peak wedding times. Please contact me for more information.
DO WE NEED TO FEED YOU AT THE RECEPTION?
Yes, I kindly request to be fed a meal at the reception similar to the ones served to your guests. This helps to keep me happy and efficient in my photographic duties. If at all possible, I would like to be served at the same time as the guests since most individuals are not at their photographic best when dining. A meal is requested for my assistant or second shooter, if supplied.
CAN OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS TAKE PICTURES WITH THEIR CAMERAS?
Yes, guests are welcome to take photographs, but I request they respect my space and allow me to get my shots first so all eyes are facing me during family formals. I will allow others to snap a few images after I get my image.
