What is your photographic style?Michael's photographic syle is documentary in nature. He loves to capture the mood of your event and the personalities of the participants. His style is casual. He loves to capture the emotions of each wedding; the joy, laughter, tears. The majority of photographs captured are spontaneous.
Do you do formal posed images as well?Of course. Michael will take formals of the bride and groom, their families and the bridal party on your wedding day. Michael considers your wedding day a rite of passage. Therefore it's important to photograph the families and participants to document the occasion.
Where do you live?Michael lives in Riverside, California.
Which areas do you cover?Michael photographs weddings in Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego and the Inland Empire. Basically he will photograph your wedding anywhere in Southern California with no additional travel fees.
Will you travel?Of course! Michael enjoys traveling and is available for destination weddings outside Southern California. Travel expenses will be added to the cost of the wedding package for travel and accomodations. Please contact Michael with your wedding details to obtain a quote for travel expenses. Michael arranges his own travel and accomodations.
Who will photograph my wedding?Michael is the sole primary photographer. If you hire him to photograph your wedding, you will get him. Period. If your package includes a second shooter, he will select a professional photographer whose work he respects to accompany him.
Do you schedule more than one wedding on a given date?No. Michael only schedules one wedding per calendar date. This ensures he can devote his full attention to your wedding.
What if you're unable to cover my wedding?In the unlikely event Michael is not able to shoot your wedding due to unforeseen circumstances, he will select another professional photographer to photograph your wedding. He is a member of numerous wedding photography communities. Therefore he is well connected with a network of reliable wedding photographers who may be called upon.
How many pictures will we get?The number of pictures taken depends on many factors and varies from wedding to wedding. For packages including unlimited coverage, the number of photographs taken is not limited, but on average approximately 500-600 images are delivered.
Do we get to keep the negatives?Michael provides the high-resolution digital files on DVD with no watermarking or copy protection. We retain the copyright on the images and reserve the right to use them for promotional purposes, competition, etc. You will receive a written release to make unlimited personal reproductions and copies for your family and friends.
Do you have insurance?Yes.
What kind of equipment do you use?We use top of the line Nikon equipment and extensive backups.
Can you hold the date for me?Unfortunately, we cannot hold the date for you without a retainer and signed agreement. Customers are accomodated on a first come, first served basis.
What is your payment schedule?A fifty percent retainer is due at booking. The remaining fifty percent is due 30 days prior to your wedding date.
If we decide to commission Michael for our wedding, when should we book?As soon as possible. Since dates are reserved on a first come, first served basis, it's important to book as quickly as you can. There are a limited number of wedding dates each year. Since we can't hold or pencil in your date without a retainer and agreement, please contact us early so you're not disappointed.
Do you charge sales tax?Yes. 8% California sales tax will be added to your package price.
If I have to cancel my wedding, can I have my retainer back?No you cannot. The retainer fee and all monies paid are non-refundable. The retainer guarantees we will reserve your wedding date. Once we receive a retainer, we will turn down all commissions for that date.
Do you offer discounts for off-season or non-Saturday events?We occasionally offer discounts for events scheduled during the week or during non-peak wedding times. Please contact us if you have any budgetary concerns.
Do we need to feed you at the reception?Yes, Michael kindly requests to be fed a meal at the reception similar to the ones served to your guests. This helps to keep him happy and efficient in his photographic duties. If at all possible, he would like to be served at the same time as the guests since most individuals are not at their photographic best when dining. A meal is requested for his assistant or second shooter, if supplied.
Can our family and friends take pictures with their cameras?Yes, guests are welcome to take photographs, but Michael requests they respect his space and allow him to get his shots first so all eyes are facing him during family formals. He will allow others to snap a few images after he gets his.
